In the poor houses of the slums, the streets were full of liter and filth, the sewers and drain gates were nearly overflowing with waste, and there always seemed to be a dark overhang of menacing clouds, with hardly any rain. Now, however, it was slightly sprinkling, and a white fog had rolled over. It was dangerous out in these conditions, normally police drove down this way, searching for any fugitives. They never found any, of course, but that didn't stop the cops from trying.
This day, only a handfull of people were walking about, no cars, just people on foot, and even those people hurried home as fast as they could.
"Don't ya' just love days like this?" The voice was muffled, as if from behind a glass wall, an effect of this cursed weather. The kid was leaning on the front wall of a rust-colored house, a foot resting on a rail nearby, with his hand behind his head. "I bet those rich 'uns aren't feeling under the weather today, what with their tech stuff" The teen continued.
"I s'ppose" A reply sounded, not far away. Both characters wore dark clothes, a stark contrast to the overhang of white. One was of average height, wearing a black V-neck shirt, covered with a leather jacket of a rich red, un-zipped, or course. Below were dark jean-like pants, also black with a red star down the left leg and red sneakers.
The other, who had just spoken, was completely clad in a deep purple a large claok with the hood up, hiding his face. Now and then, a white-gloved hand would reach up and push back a white hair, or rub a blood-red eye. Both wern'et looking at anything, as it was somewhat hard to see the house at the other end of the street.
There was supposed to be a raid this morning, on a jewelry store, nothing big. But it was sure to fail now, even if the fog didn't reach into the confines of the city. "Sure ya' can't magic a plan outta that stuffed brain of yous, Mirc?" The one in red cheeked, spitting on the ground.
"I still have the same plan. It's just...delayed. Weather's supposed to be clear tomorrow" Mirco retorted, a hand grasping at a mosquito he couldn't quite catch. "Anyway, my brain is natural size, yours is just smaller than usual" The leader added as an afterthought. These two were always making these jabs, neither ever giving in.
"Sure thing. S-u-r-e thing."

OoC// I have a bit of writer's block, and I still have to brush up on my human roleplaying skills... so don't mind my lack of muse... >__<
BiC// Gray clouds had already weaved their way in the heavens(and it always seemed like such a permanent state in the slums), chasing away the fluffy white ones that had what seemed so long ago dabbed the sky. A darker atmosphere cast upon the lands before, shadowy and gray. It was raining.
Shivering to the bone, Kane shook his head to stop the waterfall that seemed to cascade down the sides of his face. Droplets flew around him, and as he stopped, his brown hair seemed to puff up comically just the slightest before it was drenched once again in water. The word, 'Useless', trailed across his mind for a second before his attention was once again settled upon Mirco.
"Hey, Skye. You still alive back there?" he asked, his green eyes harboring a bored expression as he glanced behind to the quiet girl. His tongue was so dry, it stuck to the roof of his mouth... The blonde simply rose her eyes to meet the Italian boy's face. She shrugged.
"Why, does it look like I'm dead?" she questioned, blinking her eyes shut for a moment as a tiny breeze forced the rain to fall in a different direction on its path towards earth.
"Hah, sure seems like it," Kane grinned. "Sometimes you're way too quiet, and other times, you're too loud." He found himself chuckling at Skye's face as she pressed her lips together and shoved the boy, before walking ahead of him.
An eerie silence hung about the boy's head as he stared up at the gray sky, rather silently. He cared not, about it. He didn’t mind the silence about, as it wasn’t tense. It wasn’t as if his fate was being decided. It was a peaceful silence.
It wasn't long before Kane realized Skye had gone too far up ahead without him and immediately ran after. Just as he had caught up, the blonde had stopped about a foot or so in front of Mirco and Vlad, smiling her usual calm smile in their direction.
"Hey, Mirc. Vlad," Kane greeted cheerfully.

A short blonde haired girl made her way down the sidewalk, when she spotted the group of people standing on the opposite side of the street. Brittany brushed a piece of hair out of her face and put her diamond-studded sunglasses away, she wasnt going to need them no matter how cool they looked. Stupid fog. She spoke in her head, squinting, was that who she thought it was?
Mirc and Vlad...kane and skye? it that them? She scratched her head, while slowing down. Green eyes rested on the four, examining them. Havent talked to them in awhile... Would they even remember her? It had been so long, so long since the fire, and she wasnt quite the social butterfly during that time either. Fortunately, nobody knew that her father was the one who started the whole thing, and she smiled for a moment before striding up to them all.
Hey, Mirc? Vlad? Kane? Skye? her voice was quiet, and her emerald colored eyes darted around quickly, it wasnt usual that a rich kid like her would talk to these types of people, but heck, she didnt care. They were her type of people. Remember me? Britt? Please let them remember me... the 14 year old girl sent a silent prayer and pulled her ipod earphones out of her ears and put it away. This was more interesting.
For the past few weeks, Brittany had been more outgoing. She had no idea why, but she wanted to be like other teenagers, ones that had friends and just did what they wanted and had fun. She wasnt stupid, she knew she couldnt do that by herself.

"Tch....seems we're popular today" Vlad sighed and sucked on the back of his teeth. Of course, he knew Kane and Skye, why wouldn't he? Those two were an odd bunch...but then, so were everyone in this little 'gang'. Brittany, however, seemed vagualy familiar, like a face seen in a dream, or a dream of a dream.
They'd met before, otherwise she wouldn't have known his name, but obviously she wasn't his type, since he couldn't fully remember. Nonetheless, the young teen in red and black did his signature wave, two fingers to his head in a mock salute, and flicking them away in a casual motion. "Yo"
Mirco pushed away from the wall, and pushed his hood back, revealing a set of white hair, down to his mid-back. If one looked deep into his eyes, one could see movement in the iris and right outside the pupil, it always happened when he was recalling a bit of information. "Kane Skye, have fun? Brittany, it's been a while. It seems you're well" Mirco sighed as he took in her clothes, her iPod headphones, the expensive glasses hanging out of a pocket.
"Yeah, what brings you to our humble abode, eh?"
"Can it, we have a guest." The purple-claaked teen chastized as his comrade taunted the newcomer.

Quiescence. A soft intake of breath. A heavy sigh.
Kane shoved his hands in his pockets, his gaze turned downward. Tufts of grass attempted to crawl onto the cement, as though more life and nutrients could be found there. If they believed walking here was what fed humans what they needed, the plants were to be pitied.
Very little grew in the city.
Another voice was heard. “Wha- Britt...” He trailed off, uncertain, but felt a pause in his thought. For the moment, it was safe to speak—he was curious. “Britt,” he repeated, his voice almost a whisper.
"Ah, give it up, will you," Skye murmered, chuckling beneath her breath. "If it were one thing you were bad at Kane, it'd be remembering anything and matching names with faces." The boy found himself rolling his green eyes at those words. Then, it hit him...
"Wait, yeah. I remember you!" Kane grinned. "How've you been lately?"
Skye raised a brow in his direction. Sometimes, she knew Kane would play pretend to just prove her wrong in situations such as this, but sometimes he was a good enough a pretender to pull one off on her. That or he really did remember Britt. The blonde waved in the girl's direction, half-listening to Vlad's taunts.
She laughed lightly, blue eyes shimmering with a bit of amusement. She didn't know why she found the taunts funny, but she did. Her eyes landed on Britt's face once more before she glanced back at Vlad. Her eyes roved in on Mirco next, before landing on that Kane, who would sometimes become quiet an annoyance to her.
Being the girl, Skye was well aware of how the boys were like family to her. To Skye, it had never been a contest: she loved all three equally, and needed them just as much.
Vlad was like her support and her safety. Kane was the little burst of sunshine she needed in the morning, and the helping hand to walk her through should she lose sight of her own light. Mirco was her touchstone. He was the force that pushed her to become the best that she is, to put her fears away and just try, and to not settle for anything less.
She loved them all dearly but differently, but that mattered nothing to her.

The short female looked at all the faces as they spoke, examining them before moving on to the next one. Nodding politely to Mirco, then turning to Vlad and rolling her eyes at him. Sarcasm, bleh She didnt really like him that much, but who was she to judge? You learned a lot from eating, sleeping, shopping...doing everything alone, most people judged her when she walked through the mall and around town by herself. They wonder why i dont have friends.. the green eyed teen constantly told herself, and hastedly threw on a black blazer, concealing a long scar that ran down her left arm, from her shoulder to her wrist.
The blonde girl laughed wholeheartedly at Skye's comment and sighed, placing a hand on her hip and glancing around. Im kinda sick of the life ive been living.. Brittany picked her head up and ran a slightly shaking hand through her hair. Trying to get in contact with some old aquaintences again.
Despite her "rich girl" look, she quite enjoyed the atmosphere she was in. It was quiet, but edgy, the perfect type of area she could use to get away from the steriotypical world she lived in. ooc- please exscuse this pathetic exscuse for a post, i have to start getting back to my "human roleplaying" mode.

A small blue-eyed girl made her way through the pouring rain, she looked up for a minute blinking her eyes to the stinging rain. She saw the overhang and made her way to it, not noticing the other people, just wanting to get out of the rain for a minute. She breathed a small sigh of relife as the rain slacked when she stepped under it. Her breath coming out as a cloud. She shivered in her blue tee-shirt, stupid me she thought to herself why didn't i take a jacket before I left she slapped her forehead at her stupididty.

"Ahh, sick of the pampered life and wanna join us rebels?" Vlad jeered, a devilish smirk shadowed on his lips. "Well, it's a big step from fried chicken to BBQ rat, but if that's ya fancy, be my guest." And he spat on the ground, but it seemed lost with all the rain.
"Give it a rest Vlad, we are small now, and any assisstance would be greatly appreciated. And no, we don't eat rats" Mirco sighed, why he and Vlad were out here he didn't know. The pitter-patter of rain was oddly calming, but people hated getting wet.
"Yah, we still have some dignity." Vlad just didn't like those people who were sitting in luxery while they were in the dumps.
But another girl came under their canopy, and didn't seem to recognize there were here. "Oy! Watch it Sheila!" He cried as she came close.
"Down boy. What are you doing out in this weather?" The purple-caped wonder asked. Something strange was up. They were out, and Britt suddenly showed up, and now this girl. Coincidence? Possibly, but since he escaped, he doubted the validity of chance.

Jessa turned at the sound of the voices, "I'm sorry," she said, "I didn't see you here." she stepped closer to the guys, "But I see no reson to leave. So I won't" She reached her hands back and rung out her blue hair. She swiped her small hand down the length of her body, instantly all the water was off her and on the floor.
ooc: sorry, im not the best human rper

The boy had been day dreaming a bit when Brittany spoke again. "Don't blame you," he replied to her, allowing a light hearted chuckle to escape his mouth. He laughed a bit louder at Vladimir's comments, grinning twitching at the corners of his lips. However, the sudden presence of another surprised him and into a full alertness. His first instinct was to shift his body's position and place himself in front of Skye, believing it was her who he thought was coming up, but upon seeing it wasn't her he was facing he stepped back and tripped. "OOF!" he called, stumbling from sidewalk and into a small puddle that had collected beside it. *SPLASH!* "Dammit!" he cursed, dragging his soaked body from the water. Dripping wet he glared at the blue-haired girl, as if blaming her for his downfall (though, the ones who knew Kane, knew that he was simply covering up his embarrasment). Snuffing, he leaned back against the wall, eyes wandering off to stare down the street, as to avoid making eye contact with anyone after that unwanted fall. *~* "I'm sorry, I didn't see you there" came a not-so-familiar voice in response to Vlad's earlier comment. Turning her head, the blonde's cerulean blue gaze softened just a little as she realized who was speaking. "But I see no reson to leave. So I won't." She smiled warmly. Pausing, Skye's attention was diverted momentarily to the loud splash originating from nearby, and she had to suppress a hearty laugh as she watched her friend sit angrily into the shallow puddle. A wide grin, however, managed to creep upon her face, unwilling to be sedated. Ah, just the cure for the rainy blues! She chuckled softly to herself, but quieted when Kane had stood up. He was clearly furious, and of course it was everyone elses' fault. Again she attempted to quell her laughter, but it was no use. Stifling it, she faced the new girl. "Hey there," Skye greeted Jessa. "Name's Skye, what's yours?" Twin pools of blue roved in on Kane, sending him a warning glance to introduce himself. The boy simply 'hmphed' and didn't say anything. Though his emerald eyes remained locked on Jessa attentively, awaiting her response to Mirco's and Skye's questions. OoC// I have POSTED! -does happy dance-

Jessa giggled at the boys amusing fall, with a flick of her wrist, he was dry. She nodded to him, hoping he accepted her apology. She truned her contacted blue eyes to Skye. "I'm Jessa" she extended her hand. "And before you ask, no, it's not short for anything." her gazle flickered over to Kane, then went back to Skye. "Who's that" she pionted her thumb to the boy leaning, now dry, against the wall.

Kane rolled his eyes when Jessa began to giggle at him. Normally, the boy never really minded having the attention locked on him, but not because of something like that. Inhaling deeply and then exhaling, he brushed his suddenly dry bangs from his face. Blinking shock filled green eyes, he looked at his body. Linking his suddenly dry self to the flick of Jessa's wrist, he assumed it was her doing. So that was her ability? He reluctantly sent a shy smile of thanks in her direction for it. Though of course, he didn't stay entirely dry the whole time. Even with where he was standing, a few raindrops falling from the sky still had managed to cleverly find their way back to him. *~* Skye watched in silence, as Jessa easily dried Kane's sopping wet form. "Jessa," she repeated, filing the name into her mind quickly at to not forget it anytime soon. Blue tinged eyes began to shine with amusement as the blue-haired girl had stated that it wasn't short for anything. The blonde glanced back over at the still-embaressed Kane. "Oh, him?" she quelled the question for a second before answering. "That's just Kane. He may tend to get annoying at times, and his sarcasm is definately something that gets on my nerves, but all in all, he's somewhat tolerable to be around," she joked, grinning genuinely.

Jessa nodded, "tolerable, like little brothers? Or are all guys like that?" she asked skye. She also retuned Kanes smile warmly, "Good sarcasm is a god given gift, Kane, use it wisely," she winked at him and turned her attention to the other people nearby. "Any idea who thoose guys are?' she nodded in their general direction."

Skye found herself laughing. "Nah, I believe Kane get's on my nerves more than a little brother would." She contemplated her next answer. "I guess most guys can be like that." Her eyes flashed to Mirco. He was definately no where near how Kane and even Vladimir had acted. That much she was sure off.
Emerald eyes happened to rise to meet Jessa face, a smile tugging at the corner of the Italian boy's lips. After acting so stingy a few minutes earlier, Kane had decided to be the one to introduce the others. He liked this Jessa, and her attitude. He put it on a mental note to try not to judge anyone on first sight, like he had after he had unintentionally fallen in that puddle.
"The one with the silver hair is Mirco," Kane intercepted the question, before Skye could. The blonde looked at him as he had continued. "That's Vladimir, or Vlad, whichever you prefer to call him, and that there is Britt." He finished, motioning towards the other girl.
"We have one more, Shylaer, but I haven't seen her all day," Skye added, regarding the golden-eyed brunette that she hasn't seen all day. Wherever she was, Skye didn't have to worry. Shy was able to take care of herself.

Jessa was surprised by Kane's change of attidute, "Thank you Kane," she said smileing. "So is this a formal group or just a meeting of the minds?" she asked her blue eyes dancing. A pain creased her eye and she reached up to rub it instenctivly. That was stupid. Her contact lens was poking her eye painfully, she pulled it out reveiling a dark brown eye behind it that glittered in the pale light. "Jeeze," she said, "I might as well take the other one out." She did and threw the lenses over her shoulder.
